K-2 T’fillah Service Songs!

Morah Molly recorded the songs that she uses in the K-2nd Grade Service.

A message from Morah Molly:
This is a link to everything that we are currently doing in our J-JEP K-2 morning service. I have recorded sound files of the tunes and also a sound file for each prayer with slow pronunciations. The slow pronunciations are labeled “words.” If you have the CD from last year, it is pretty much the same except that there is an additional melody for Barchu. We have been using the Siegel version.

There are some slight variations from the Siddur Sim Shalom text to the Mishkan T’Filah text in the Amidah/T’filah. There is a spot in that prayer where the reform prayerbook says “Avoteinu v’Imoteinu” (our fathers and our mothers) and the conservative prayerbook says only “Avoteinu.” (our fathers) Both prayerbooks go on to list the patriarchs and matriarchs after that, and in the same order. When we learn more of that prayer, there are one or two other word differences from one text to the other. I will provide both versions, although currently I only have the Mishkan T’filah version up there.

Please take some time to listen to this with your child(ren) at home. It is more fun and more rewarding for them when they have done the work and can take pride in being able to participate fully. We would like to start inviting classes to lead sections of the service and making our T’filah time more interactive.

Have a great week everyone! See you in two weeks.
